Non-Profits and Community Groups Invited to Apply for Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre Service Project

Area non-profit organizations are invited to submit a Request for Proposals (RFP) to Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre for implementation as a class Community Impact Project. Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre will select up to eight (8) projects for the incoming class to work on throughout the program year (September 2018 through April 2019).

For nonprofit organizations and community groups, this invitation to submit a RFP presents an opportunity to use the services of a talented team of high school juniors (approx. eight-ten individuals). The group can help you with a project you have had in mind, but lacked the human resources to accomplish.

Past projects have included: a Revue and dressing room renovations benefitting the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre; Bark in the Park, a 5K benefitting the SPCA of Luzerne County; Paws for a Cause, a dog walk benefitting Blue Chip Animal Farms
Project Look at a Book benefitting the Osterhout Free Library; Beekman Book Bash benefitting Luzerne County Head Start; Shining Bright, benefiting Brighter Journeys; Family Feeding Friends, benefitting the Weinberg Food Bank; and Bingo for Candy’s Place.

Projects must have a reasonable scope and budget and cannot include capital campaigns or raising large sums of money. Junior Leadership participants are restricted to raising no more than $3,000.00/project.
