Leadership Wilkes-Barre would like to express our sincere congratulations to Kit Foley, winner of this year’s Distinguished Leadership Alumni Award. Kit Foley is the Vice President of Student Life at Misericordia University and she has been involved with Leadership Wilkes-Barre since she graduated from the Core Program in 2001. She has been a project advisor, chair of the Advisory Council, member of the Intercollegiate Advisory Council and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors representing Misericordia University. In addition to her involvement with the Board, she also facilitates programs for the Core, Junior Leadership, Intercollegiate, and Impact programs. Your dedication and support of Leadership Wilkes-Barre is truly appreciated.

IMPACT: A Leadership in Education Program, brings together the region’s education professionals for a series of interactive sessions designed to empower teachers to be progressive agents of positive change within schools. IMPACT combines the best of Leadership Wilkes-Barre’s nationally award winning Core program with the intricate needs of local education. IMPACT participants will:

˗ Build leadership skills needed to adapt and thrive in challenging environments and to improve school cultures and educational outcomes
˗ Gain leadership skills that can be directly implemented in the classroom
˗ Better understand personal communication and behavioral styles
˗ Engage in an analysis of the public education system and develop an awareness of the community at large
˗ Connect with an accomplished group of civic leaders from the field of education as well as the government and private sectors
˗ Network with professionals from more than twelve districts
˗ Successfully complete a School Impact Project
˗ Earn THREE Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits
